In this evening’s concert we will hear the Philomusica Piano Quartet perform 3 Famous Piano Quartets by 3 different composers exposing the ultimate beauty of chamber music in the Classical and Romantic genres:
Mahler - Piano Quartet in A minor
Mozart - Piano Quartet No.2 in E flat major, K.493
Brahms - Piano Quartet No.2 in A major, Op.26
The works will be introduced by Pianist Nadia Weintraub and the concert will have a 20 min intermission.
Nadia Weintraub is an international concert pianist who co- founded the Philomusica Piano Quartet in Israel nearly two decades ago with members of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. It is one of the longest-lasting chamber ensembles in Israel, with three of its original founding members: Weintraub, Tishin and Golderman. (Mrs. Oren on Viola replaces IPO member Mr. Leventhal).The Quartet has a vast repertoire from the beloved classics and romantics until 20th century and contemporary music. Over the years it has performed in prestigious concerts and chamber music festivals across Israel. Ms. Weintraub currently resides in Brussels, Belgium and arrives in Israel to join her colleagues to perform exceptional chamber music.
