Hi everyone - we are excited to tell you that we are restarting our ESRA Book Club with a lyrical and immersive book - "The Sealwoman's Gift" by Sally Magnusson. Based on truth the novel tells the story about Asta, an Icelandic woman who is kidnapped from her island home and sold into slavery in Algiers in 1627. Of course this is terribly contemporary for us, but the book is so remarkable and poetic, and the themes so important to us, that we feel it has to be read and discussed.
