A Chanukah Visit to the Baram Home in Haifa
For the third year in a row, Haifa ESRA is delighted to invite members to experience the unique and inspiring home of Professor Amazia and Bonnie Belkin-Baram on the Carmel in Haifa.
Bonnie Belkin-Baram, a graduate of UCLA and a licensed Israeli tour guide since 1981, first sought out Professor Amazia Baram—Professor Emeritus of Haifa University and an internationally renowned expert in Middle Eastern studies—as a lecturer for her exclusive Chicago Museum tour group. That collaboration eventually led to a remarkable shared life and home.
Chanukah is the perfect time to visit this extraordinary residence. Guests will enjoy a private tour showcasing:
-
Ingenious space-saving designs and custom-made furniture.
-
An exquisite collection of Chanukiot, each with its own story, handcrafted by Professor Baram’s father, Myrim Baram.
-
Unique and whimsical ceramic figures created by Bonnie’s father, Paul Belkin.
The two-story apartment is a feast for the eyes, filled with one-of-a-kind features that both store and display. A typical reaction from past visitors has been: “We couldn’t stop saying ‘wow’!”
Join us for an intimate cultural experience that combines art, history, design, and the warmth of Chanukah.
