Learn how “chance and necessity” led to a new understanding of life in health and disease and to the introduction of many life-saving therapies that changed the human condition - what we often refer to as tikun olam.

Dr. Yoav Cabantchik, Professor Emeritus A&M Della Pergola Chair in Life Sciences Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was born in Argentina, educated in BioChemistry and Medicine in Israel, the US and Canada. He is the former Head of the Institute of Life Sciences of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and President of the International Society for the Study of Iron in Health and Disease.

He is scientific director of an Israeli startup companies in the field of iron diagnostics and treatment and senior advisor in Human Iron Nutrition. He has lectured to basic scientists and clinicians in Jerusalem and abroad, as well as to the lay public.
