ESRA Haifa is delighted to welcome back Professor Amatzia Baram, one of Israel’s foremost experts on the Middle East. Dr. Baram is Professor Emeritus for Middle East Studies at the University of Haifa. He has published five books and some 70 academic articles on Iraq, Iran, and Syria.

Today his analyses of current political and economic developments in Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Lebanon are being published by GIS, the internet magazine for international business people owned by Prince Michael of Liechtenstein in Vaduz. Dr. Baram served as a senior reserves officer on the Iraqi-Iranian Desk in the Israeli Military Intelligence 1980-1994. He has advised the US administrations of Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr. and Obama on Iraq and the Persian Gulf.

Time permitting, Dr. Baram will also speak about “To What Extent Iran has its fingers in the lives and treasuries of :Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey and Yemen.”
