We will visit the archaeological site of Yodfat, also known as ‘Masada of the Galilee’. As we walk around the Second Temple period ruins, we will hear Josephus Flavius’ riveting historical saga of war, resistance and betrayal, all to the background of nature’s springtime treasures.
Three trails of differing lengths are available depending on participants’ desire and ability. Recommended: hats, water, good walking shoes and warm clothing depending on the weather. Walking poles optional.
Following our walk, we will drive back to the modern commercial centre of Yodfat where there is an interesting selection of stores, a goat’s cheese outlet, and other options for food. (Or BYO and sit at the tables provided.)
