Exploring Collage - A Workshop

An individual approach to collage - create original works of art working with paper, scissors and glue. This workshop is suitable for all levels. No prior experience is needed. During the sessions, participants will be introduced to collage techniques and art movements that have used collage. We will look at famous Cubist, Dada, Pop Art, Fauvist and Book artists. You will also be introduced to famous contemporary artists such as Barbara Kruger, Kara Walker and Annegret Soltau who have created important collage pieces. You will learn how to plan your collage and experiment with technique. Cut and torn edges, layering, gluing down, peeling back, using text, found paper, personal imagery and adding paint and markers. You are only limited by your imagination! Take risks and have fun!

3 sessions. Subsequent sessions on February 12th and 19th, same time and location.

Bring:  Scissors, glue, large sheet of cardboard 

Optional:  Magazines, found images, ribbon, string and markers


Deborah Dworman Sullum is an artist, educator and art therapist. She helped establish the prestigious art program at the Anglican International School of Jerusalem, where she taught for 23 years. Deborah taught ceramics, silk screening and glass casting/fusing. Deborah has exhibited her ceramic and glass work nationally and internationally. She has also had commissions for mosaic walls in synagogues and public spaces in the United States.

Upon retiring 2 years ago, Deborah and her husband Daniel moved to Bat Galim, Haifa.
