"Jewish gangsters? No such thing. Jews are doctors, lawyers, and accountants. But gangsters? It can't be. But there was a time in American history when Jews played a significant role in organized crime in America. Who were these men? Where did they come from? And why did organized crime attract them? Come to the lecture by Robert Rockaway and find out."

Professor Robert Rockaway was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and received his Ph.D. in history from the University of Michigan in 1970. He made aliya in 1971 and took up a post in the Department of Jewish History at Tel-Aviv University, teaching American Jewish History and Modern Jewish History. Robert has written numerous books and articles and is a frequent guest on radio and television programs in Israel and the United States.
