Dr. Mordechai Kedar is a lecturer at the departments of Arabic and Middle East, and a researcher at the Begin-Sadat Centre for Strategic Studies, Bar-Ilan University. His fields of research are Islamic thought, Arab societies, terrorism and gender issues in Islam.

Formerly, Dr. Kedar served 25 years as a Lt. Col. in the 8200 unit of the IDF Intelligence Corps, in positions which involved Arabic, mathematics, statistics and computers.

Speaking Arabic fluently, Dr. Kedar is a regular interviewee in the Arab media, including Al-Jazeera, BBC Arabic, France24, RT, Al-Hurra, Syria Today and more.
