Hope Valley is the story of two Israeli women, one Jewish (Tikvah) and one Palestinian (Rabis, or Ruby), who meet one summer day in the year 2000 in the Galilean valley that divides their villages. The relationship begins with suspicion and fear but grows into a deep and trusting friendship. The story is told from the shifting points of view of the two women, with a backstory in 1948 as told through a lost diary written by Ruby's father.

Haviva Ner-David, a rabbi and writer and the author of Hope Valley, will speak about the book, her writing process, what inspired her to write the book, how the book has been received, and some life experiences that went into creating this fictional story. She will also read from the book and take questions, as time allows. Hope Valley is her debut novel after two published memoirs. Her third memoir is slated for publication later this year.

If you would like to read the book before (or after) the event, Haviva is happy to get you copies from her own stash here in Israel if you contact her at the following number: 0544693469, or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
