Events & Activities

As Israel's largest English speaking community, ESRA aids the successful integration of olim, both new and veteran, by providing them with a social and cultural framework including high quality services and events for all age groups. ESRA also works to bridge equity gaps in Israeli society through its education and welfare projects, which at the same time provide olim with volunteering opportunities that get them involved as contributing members of Israeli society.

ESRA Hike

ESRA Hikes take place once a month from September to May and vary from easy, to moderate and hard.
The hikes  are for early risers and are open to regular fit hikers, able to walk approximately 10 to 14 kilometers.

Israel is truly a hiker’s paradise, from waterfalls and lush green mountains to caves and salt mountains, and even canyons in the desert.  Stepping onto a trail is one of the most rewarding feelings; it’s the promise of adventure, the acknowledgment of difficulty, the dedication to the final ascent.

Come with your walking shoes and discover beautiful scenery, each time will be quite different from the last.

Please look out for any last minute changes due to weather conditions.

Hikers should come properly prepared for each hike:  plenty of water (2 litres per person in normal weather, at least 3 litres per person if it’s hot), good walking boots or shoes, change of clothes/towel if swimming, hat, sunscreen and food for breakfast & lunch in a backpack.  Walking poles optional, but useful.
ESRA hikes are suitable for people in good health.  We reserve the right to refuse participation on the hike to any person who does not come properly equipped or is not physically capable of making the distance.

Proceeds support ESRA Education and Welfare Community projects to strengthen Israeli society. Read more
